Troubleshooting common issues

Use this guide to resolve common problems you might encounter when using Siftsy.

Posts not processing

If your posts seem stuck or aren't processing, the issue depends on what you see in the Post Status panel:

Fetching or processing is taking longer than usual— Platform APIs can be slow or rate-limited. Wait a few minutes and check again. Posts with thousands of comments can take up to a few hours.

Post cannot be found— The link may be invalid, the post may have been deleted, or the account may be private. See How posts are processed for a full list of content that can't be analyzed.

Temporary platform issues— If many posts are stuck at once, the platform may be experiencing an outage. Wait and try again later.

If a single post fails to process after several hours, you can remove it and try uploading again. See How to refresh and update post data for current refresh options.

Post cannot be analyzed

Siftsy can only analyze public posts. If you see errors when uploading, check:

  • Private accounts — Posts from private accounts cannot be accessed

  • Deleted content— Posts that have been removed from the platform cannot be retrieved

  • Invalid links— Make sure the URL points directly to a post, not a profile or hashtag page

  • Locked content— Some posts are not accessible due to platform restrictions or privacy settings

Posts that fail to fetch don't count against your MAPs limit. If the post is public and on a supported platform but still fails, the platform may be temporarily unavailable—wait and try again.

MAPs limit reached

If you can't upload more posts, you may have reached your Monthly Analyzed Posts (MAPs) limit:

  1. Check your remaining MAPs in the Upload Posts panel

  2. Archive posts you no longer need — archived posts still count toward your limit, but this helps organize your workspace

  3. Upgrade your plan if you need more capacity

See How to purchase a plan for plan options.

Analysis not showing insights

If your analysis appears empty or missing insights:

  • Processing incomplete — Posts must finish processing before insights appear

  • Low comment count — Posts with very few comments may not generate full insights

  • Filter too narrow — If you've applied filters, try clearing them to see all comments

Learn more in How to start analyzing comments.

Can't add teammates

If you're unable to invite new team members:

  • Plan limit reached — Your plan includes a set number of team seats

  • Permission issue — You need admin permissions to add teammates

Contact your team administrator or check your plan details in Settings. See How to add teammates to your team.

Export not working

If PDF or image exports fail:

  1. Check your internet connection — Large analyses require stable connections

  2. Try a smaller export — Filter your analysis first, then export

  3. Use copy instead — For quick sharing, copy insights as text or image

See How to export an analysis and How to copy data to clipboard.
