How to understand comment insights

Reading the Siftsy Score

The Siftsy Score is a 1–10 rating that reflects how positively the audience is reacting to your content. It aggregates sentiment, engagement quality, and topic relevance across all comments in the posts you've selected.

A higher score indicates more positive audience reception. The score considers:

  • Sentiment — the ratio of positive, negative, and neutral comments

  • Relevance — how on-topic the comments are

  • Consensus — how aligned the audience is in their opinions

Hover over the score in your analysis to see a breakdown of each component.

Understanding the summary

At the top of the Insights card, you'll see a written summary that synthesizes the major takeaways from your comment section. This summary highlights:

  • Overall sentiment direction (positive, negative, or mixed)

  • Key topics or themes that came up repeatedly

  • Notable audience concerns or praises

  • Patterns that would be hard to spot reading comments individually

Use the summary to quickly get the gist before diving into the detailed breakdowns.

Exploring topics and themes

The analysis surfaces clusters of related comments as topics. Each topic shows what commenters are discussing and provides context on how the conversation is trending.

Topics help you:

  • Identify what's driving positive or negative reactions

  • Spot emerging concerns before they become major issues

  • Understand which product features or creative elements resonated most

Click the search icon next to any topic to create a new analysis tab focused only on comments related to that topic. See How to explore and search the comments for more details.

Viewing top comments

The Top Comments section surfaces the most notable comments from your analysis. These are comments that stand out because of their engagement, sentiment clarity, or representativeness of the broader conversation.

Top comments help you:

  • Find quotes for stakeholder presentations

  • Identify highly engaged audience members

  • Spot comments that sparked follow-up discussion

Keywords and emojis

Your analysis includes breakdowns of frequently used keywords and emojis across the comment section. These visualizations show what language and emotional expressions are dominating the conversation.

Keywords help you quickly see what terms are being used most frequently. Emojis reveal the emotional tone of the comment section at a glance.
